The Mauritian International Arbitration Act 2008 created different regimes for the recognition and enforcement of international arbitral awards. This article offers a retrospective glance at the evolution of Mauritian legislation, before outlining its pros and cons. Finally, some propositions for the future are suggested: in addition to a much-needed unification of the regimes, some ideas for reform should also be considered.
